Welcome to the
2008
41st ANNUAL
GLENN D. LOUCKS TRACK AND FIELD GAMES
Loucks is among American high school's best track and field meets.
MAKE
SURE YOU INCLUDE
THE NAMES OF ALL RELAY MEMBERS!
Due to new regulations from NFHS,
entries must close for good on
April 19, 2008
A team must declare
its entry to the meet by Thursday April 19, 2007. All
that is needed to declare a team's entry is an email to
the meet director that states a school's intention to
participate. Thus, an email stating: "______ High School
from (city, state/province) will be sending its men's
and/or women's team(s)" will do.
We must adhere to this date. For those teams
responding by April 19th, actual entries
close on Monday April 26th. Please do not put meet
management in the position of having to tell you that
your entries have arrived too late. Updates
on seeding may be reported to the Meet Director no later
than Monday May 6, 2007 at 12:00 Noon .
Summary of Important Dates:
April 19th:
All schools must declare their
intention to participate by emailing the meet director.
This date has been determined by the NFHS.
April 30th:
For those schools meeting the April
19th deadline - all
entries are due. Send them out PRIOR to the Penn Relays.
May 6th at
12:00 noon: last chance to
update entries.
No teams will be allowed to declare their entry
into the meet after April 19th.
The worst part of running a meet of this magnitude (besides worrying about the weather) is trying to collect funds from schools. Believe it or not, I received the last check for the May, 2003 Games on February 1, 2004! And only after several letters and calls, had I received several others in September and October. So........................................
NO entry blanks will be processed without one of the following:
a) A school-issued check or a personal check
b) The original or a copy of the PO or voucher (so that we know that the process has been started).
Also, we have had several individuals attempt to enter our meet, without representing their schools. Parents may not enter their sons or daughters. Only high school coaches may enter athletes into this meet. To be part of our meet an athlete must be a representative of his or her school. Please be advised to verify entries, I will call the Athletic Director of any school that is entering two or fewer athletes.
